Gaylords antiques was formed in 1970 by my late father Don Hebbard, in a small shop in Portsmouth with a stock worth the princely sum of £80!.

Working with my father as a school boy, then as a young man, gave me a privileged opportunity to become not only educated about antiques but also appreciate his great love of antique furniture, which in time passed onto me.

The company soon out grew the shop and moved to the Old School in West Street Titchfield in 1973. I served my apprentiship as a furniture restorer, and then moved onto the buying and selling side of the business which eventually led to also setting up my own team of restorers.

Over the years we have built many friendships, both nationally and internationally, and I also try to fit in time to write articles related to antiques for magazines and other publications.

The company has now grown into the largest antique furniture business in Hampshire. If you would care to visit us you will find the atmosphere helpful and relaxed with expert advice always on hand for anything from a superb repair, a major refubishment, or the purchase of a fine piece of furniture.
